Need to try Furikup but you can´t afford to get the Chotto Shot (Go!Cam), the TalkMan microphone or the official SOCOM headset?

You may be interested in making your own adapter to connect a regular PC/Laptop headset with double 3.5mm Jack connections for sound and voice (NOT the USB-type Headsets) to your PSP Remote. If you do not already own a compatible PC/Laptop headset, it may be cheaper for you to get the original SOCOM headset, though nowadays you can get really cheap PC headsets in many places (i.e. Poundland).

It is very important to clarify that you will still need the PSP remote to have the 'microphone' capability. This is the same for Sony's own PSP (SOCOM) headset. As for why Sony didn't incorporate the 'microphone' signal into the PSP console connector, who knows. Anything Sony can milk us more is good for Sony and its investors, right?

Luckily for you we have compiled a list with a few links to tutorials on how to get a working headset compatible with Furikup:

If you know of any other guide or tutorial not listed here, and you consider it should, just let us know to include it Smiley

Happy VoIPing!

The headset you´ll buy in the Poundland for just a pound will be a PC/Notebook headset. It´ll surely work, but the components from the headset will probably be very low quality.

You will still require to build the adapter in order to plug it into the PSP´s remote, though the adapter can be built for just over £3 }:)

///EDIT///

All in all a PSP compatible headset for just over £4 (6euro or 8$) can't go wrong !!! Wink

Heck, i could modify a blutooth set ^^

I´m pretty sure there´ll be much more guides / tutorials out there... unfortunately I cannot spend ages looking for them.

Some of the listed guides are not brilliant, but the basis for them all should be quite similar.

This compilation at least gives the Forum visitors a chance to realise it is not so difficult, and it could even be entertaining, to make a cheap adapter for their existent PC headset in order to use it with Furikup (or compatible online games such as SOCOM, or the coming SONY´s Skype service in the near future...).

///EDIT///
I'm making my own adapter, and I'll probably take some pictures and document the process. Once it's done I'll add the link to my guide to the list.

Does anybody have any information about using the Xbox Halo2 headset by plantronics with the PSP remote?

I still have mine for use with my original xbox and I'd like to use it instead of buying a new one.

It has a 2.5mm connector. Would a 2.5mm to 3.5mm adapter work?

EDIT: I did read the guide that's linked in the original post, but I'd like to refrain from cutting the headset or PSP remote connectors.

This is another option, putting the mic inside the remote (only for fat psp).
