Hello Every one I am very new hear. I've been reading many boards on how to put custom firmware onto your psp, but I just cant make sense of any of them. I understand that you need to have your psp downgraded to version 1.50 and that the only way to do this is by using a Pandoras battery.Is this correct?
I read that you need two psp's in order to downgrade? (i hope not)


My psp is a (fat) PSP-1001 version 3.73 and battery is 3.6v/1800mAh. I also have a SanDisk memory stick PRO Duo 4.0 GB if that's helpful.

What requirements do I need to  put on the custom firmware?

Will I still be able to play my UMD's that I purchased from the store on custom firmware?

What is a Jigkick Battery and a Magic Card? Do i even need to worry about these?

where or how do you get the Pandora Battery? Once I get it what do I do with it?

Also I read that there is a Pandora battery that you can purchase? (will this make it easier?)

Mainly I just need to know the steps that are involved and the use of the Pandora Battery and then a link to a guide on how to install the Pandora Battery. Any links to guides or tutorials would be very helpful or if I could just get the steps posted here cause every guide I read seems to leave me more confused.

Any help would be much appreciated and I apologize for the questions. If there is any way in helping this site out like voting for it I would be more than happy to do it.

Well the way i hacked my psp 1001 was that i used the lumines to hack it you can find the guides for it in the forums around here or on QJ.net.
You don't really need two psp's to hack your psp those were needed for the DDC kind of programs if you want to unbrick your psp.
the jigkick btry and MS are important if you want to hack your psp, and btw don't buy the pnd btry fom the int. as they don't have all the tools in it and half of them are fakes if i had heard correctly. Once you make your pandora battery you use it to hack your psp.
I hope this kinds of help you as i also a noob at this.
