We've realised that we have a serious issue!

Both Kloplop321 and I are working on it and has become top proirity, but due to school, please be patient.

I think the main reason for it not working is down to the OSK plugin.

In 5.00+ a new plugin was added, "vsh/module/osk_plugin_500.prx". This is the QWERTY OSK layout. I also think that osk_plugin/prx was modified, giving piKey these errors.

Maybe somebody (who knows their stuff) can decrypt the 4.00 PSAR, extract the osk_plugin from "flash0:/vsh/module/osk_plugin.prx" and flash it to their 5.00 M33 system.

Unfortunatly, due to school I haven't time to do this. Sad

I'll be out of action till mid November.

Trust us guys, the Unofficial piKey Team are really working on this project, but due to school and work, development isn't going as fast as we would like.

Just give us some time and space and we'll come up with Unofficial piKey 0.5 when we're ready.

We wouldn't want to release a dodgy piece of homebrew. Wink

Behalf of the Unofficial piKey Team

however I am not so skeptic about it as he is. nonetheless it works now roughly, it just needs to be initially synced. and some things are to be fixed until released.
Good news though  Roll Eyes

 Grin

I was up till 2:00AM (due to the time differance) with Kloplop321 and he fixed the OSK now and apparetly it's also double/tripple the speed!

Well done Levi. Not long till Unofficial piKey 0.5 is complete!

Sounds good guys.

Can`t wait for the release, typing "normally" on the PSP is just annoying... >_>

I`ll be checking up on the site frequently from now on.

We're ploughing through it when we get chances. Sometimes we NEED to work together, and due to the time differances, it often means me staying up late.

I can't afford to do that with exams going on!

Up untill the 13th of this month, I'll be working flat out with school. However when exams are over, I want to work flatout on Unofficial piKey.

Today I was doing some simple PSPIRKeyB work and uploading all the latest drivers and key repeats for other devs to use. ZX81 is trying to incorporate key repeats with PSPWrite, but is having some issues.

I've succesfully compiled PSPWrite on my system with key repeats and the new drivers, but I just have to get it perfect and up to ZX81's high standards. Wink

After 0.5 release I plan to do IR Keyboard driver work and try and code a program to help people make a IR driver. At least that way I can make frequent updates to the PSPDev community (and ZX-81 for that matter!).

I won't be dropping Unofficial piKey anytime soon! It's how I learn to code C in a fun, worthwhile and rewarding way!

Have a good day guys!

We'll get it as bug free as possible.

The whole switch from 3.52 to 3.80+ kinda threw a monkey wrench in piKey.

(Hopefully) everything will work with Unofficial piKey 0.5 however I wish I had more time.

Pressure at school is getting me down. Finding time is difficault.

All I can say is that the Unofficial piKey Team is trying very hard and is doing their best. So please be patient! Thanks!

Take your time Smiley
Im happy just to know its being worked on and eventually we will see it Smiley

On a side note I use iRShell and I was wondering if there would be able to be a lite version of the plugin that would allow it to be used with iRShell?
or is the plugin as small as it can get already?

Thanks! Unfortunatly I doubt the plugin will get any light in 0.5. Especially after you see what I've done with piKeyCTRLOut! You guys will love it!

There is no way I can make piKey and iRShell work. Trust me I've tried it. Look I know you love iRShell I did too, it was an amazing application, but you have to move on. You can't stay on 3.90 M33 forever. I suggest you try other shells. My favourite is "Xplora" by ne0h or NervOS by Pirata Nervo.

BOTH are not as good as iRShell and they both have bugs... but give it a few more releases and they'll be perfect.

I personally use Xplora. It's clean and is a little like Windows Vista. Folders look like folders, and icons look like icons, but ne0h told me that he still has bugs to fix.

It's an alternative... but it's you're PSP.

Maybe in the future after I'm done with perfecting piKey, I'll make a shell PURELY for piKey IR / SIO support. Maybe I can make my life easier and port a shell to have IRDA support like what ZX81 did with PSP PDA.

Anyway, I've gone on and off topic... again!

EDIT: http://pspupdates.qj.net/...eleased-/pg/49/aid/126029

Who would have thunk it?!  Cheesy

Thanks for your support guys! Development will start again this weekend! I plan to make good solid progress with Unofficial piKey.

I think I'm ready to say that I'll be making some release for Christmas day. I may not get time to do all the docs / dev packs and installers, but unstead a detailed TXT file and a map of the SEPlugins folder along with the latest PSPIRKeyB Lib.

I'll see how we get on. This release is also aimed at developers too and helping them with PRX developing. =)

I think it may be my setup. You see I program in Windows XP (32bit).

Fanjita and other devs program in un Unix based environment such as Linux, or in Fanjita's case Ubuntu.

I may send it to be finally compiled by J.F since he's an Ubuntu geek!

I still find it weird how it works on some PSP's but not on others.  Undecided

C++... not really great for the PSP scene...

Learn C++ if you have to for college/university or if you plan to program applications for Windows under the .NET framework. (Visual studio will be of use.)

If you specificly want to learn PSP coding, learn LUA or C. Don't start on out on C++. Wink
