Will pikey have to be remapped because of firmware 5.00

With the new firmware 5.00 and hopefully 5.00 M33, there is a full screen keyboard so will that mean that pikey has to be remapped, I have not tried latest pikey yet because I need to fix my broken psp

Woah! Don't shout there I heard you ok!
the good news is no. I installed and looked at 5.00 and it appears not. The extra keyboard is activated by pressing "select" a few times.
If any issues were to happen, the "Automatic Select Presser" in piKey would sort that out. It can be easily configured by the user
Don't worry my friend!
At the moment Unofficial piKey 0.5 s at a complete standstill due to school (Me and Kloplop321) and work (Chilly Willy). These few months are important for us.
Despite this, we've madea LOT of progress on our project. the changelog is bigger than 0.3 and 0.4 added together, and the coding is almost done! Just need to round some things up!
Most importantly I have to ensure all installers, source codes and docs are up to scratch for the release... (Noobz strict policy)

Hey, I realised that pikey is somehow messing up on my memory stick, I have tried 3 different psp's with the same memory stick and it does not seem to work. Could it be because of the fact that my memory stick is FAT32 and it should be FAT16, my memory stick is a "Sony 4Gb Magicgate Supported Stick" by the way if that matters

I'm starting to wonder if it's your stick that's the problem.
Download the piKey 0.2 / 0.4 hybrid a Omega-Weapon made.

See if that makes a differnace

I tried it, works in xmb, only problem is when I type the letters are all muddled up and no button is right, I have pressed select and tried again but still the problem persists, I am on 5.00 M33

Is your PSP language set to English?
Ensure that a
'a'
incon appears on the bottom right hand corner of your OSK not a
'รก'
.
Read the Unofficial pikey 0.4 FAQs!
By the way try typing in the "Sytem Name" option box.
I hope Son'y haven't messed up the OSK mapping!

It was set to "a" and this made the full screen keyboard layout and when i tried to type it was still messed up, the language is set to english.

Ahh that's your problem... it must the "a" that ISN'T the full screen keyboard layout. Then it will work fine!
It should be the acbACB1 input!
Good luck!

I can confirm this not to be working on 5.00M33-3.
The button mapping appears to be different eg: webbrowser "W" = Cancel
I tried the Hybrid 0.2-0.4 which would not work at all
Edit: also tried with all keymappings in OSK

I upgraded and suffered the same problem, I think I found what the problem is, when you type a letter, the highlited box should be reset to the one in the top left but that is not happening and when you type a new letter, its not alligned and causing random letters. I like 5.00 M33 because you can easily do the quick usb mode when you plug it in and i don't want to downgrade just to use pikey

I too have it. Even with the 0.2/0.4 Hybrid I conjured up, my piKey still doesn't type properly. I've tried all different keyboard layouts, and also changing the character sets, but still nothing.
We know that it can't be that Sony have messed up the IR drivers, cause my keyboard still works fine in PSPWrite, and I'm presuming (Haven't tested yet) AFKIM. It must be something to do with piKey and the new full screen keyboard messing it up.
Hopefully 0.5 will come out soonish, and that'll fix the problem up.

Sorry for a late reply guys. I was away...
Hmmm... the problem you a telling me is very odd and I will try and sort it out ASAP.
Due to school and exams,, I do not plan to do any major work till mid November. Sorry.
What I'll do is make a "Unofficial piKey 0.5 Pre Release" so people can report any problems after all testing by me. The "Pre Release" will just be the PRX's and config files.
After all has been checked and tested, I'll release the "Full Release" with source files, libs, docs and installers and apps.
Sorry for the delay guys. Since this is my last year of school, finding time is a challenge!
Have a good day!

Just try 0.3 for now and see if it works.
If 0.3 fails as well, I'm in for a LOT of work!
If 0.3 works, I think I know what the problem may be!
