It's very cool, nice work.
What plans do you have for its future? And is there anything that piKey could do that would make things easier for you?

It looks cool... but too much hasstle. I'd rather get a Targus of eBay.
Interesting concept though... does this mean that piKey can be used with the PSP Slim?

this looks very cool it would be fun to just plug the remote into the PSP and keyboard and the other side of the remote into your adapter and be able to controll it Please keep us posted (i Know there are other hardware projects... this for example: http://nil.rpc1.org/psp/remote.html Maybe it helps you a little bit?) //EDIT Argh, that page is gone

My IR Keyboard comes in handy on the move, but a regular-size keyboard would be more confortable for PiKey's usage at home.
I have a spare keyboard lying down at home doing nothing so I wouldn't mind trying Neotomek's convertor once (if) he releases the schematics to the public.
Unfortunately there's not been any news in this proyect for a while so I start doubting this will happen :-/

it still would be cool maybe you can try to PM him if he still works on the project. It would be an absolute dream if it was possible to build a box that connects to the PSP's erial port with a serial keyboard adapter, a usb keyboard adapter and a place for a 9V battey (to supply the USB keyboard with the 5v it needs) But probably USB is a dream ^^

Yes.. Fanjita did say he tried the USB method, but he found IR and serial the best.
The PSP 2000 has no IR port... maybe piKey has a very bright future???

uh, no. Sorry, i meant a USB to SIO adapter that also could connect PS2 keyboards to the SIO ':) but if it would be possible... hey. that would be ideal since the slim has a changed SIO connector and no IR-Port WiFi and USB are the only 'available' ports... Maybe i should dust off my 'electronics for beginners' book ^^ On the otherhand was i always hopeless with the soldering iron I belive USB is not ideal since it expects +4v via the port and the PSP doesnt give that without hardmodding it. (thats why i thought about the external battery)

No offense, but why go through all that hassle that'll take long frustrating hours and tons of solder when you could pick up a Targus of eBay quite cheap?
In Unofficial piKey 0.4, the Targus and Palm are now pretty much faultless!

to have a big full sized keyboard (10 fingers blind? =) ) to just carry the small adapterbox and be able to use every keyboard to gain a little bit soldering experience (i soldered a C=64 floppy monitor just for the fun of it (it would have always shown me the track the flopy writes to) , sadly it never worked ^^ ) to be able to use the SIO input piKey delivers
