Hello obicom,

if you use german as your favourite language at the XMB, it will break. pikey 0.4 doesn't support the german language.
I hope Angelo and co. will add some languages to pikey with the following versions.

Hi ...

yes I'm the same obicom ... from pspsource ... nice to meet you here ;-)
I ask the same in your thread on psps ... have a look there .. (http://www.pspphoenix.de/...viewtopic.php?189864.last)
Ok ... thanks a lot for the advice .. yes my psp work with German language ...
after work I will check it ASAP ... and will change to English language.
I was confused that on different Keys are the German special characters like "ä, ö, ü ..." comes ...
but now I understood .... is there no work around for it?
German language in XMB (on PSP) and a special keymap for the keyboard layout?
I thinks thats only a adapting for ASCII Codes, isn't it?
My idea is, chnage the keymap handling from clear characters to ASCII Code ...
but this is a 'homework' for the developers.  Wink

1. Sample does now work... but that's for another release.

2. We'll fix the keymap issue trough email!

Thanks!

I changed my PSP language to english ... and now the OSK works fine.
For the moment it is fantastic but is there a a possibility to work in german language, too?
Do you planning a multi-language version for the future?
I can't understand why it is possible PSPwrite, but not with pikey in XMB.  Huh

Ah! Yes I forgot to mention. Your PSP must be in English!

Goodness! You probably know as much about piKey as I do!

We DO have plans for a multilanguage release, but we plan on getting piKey perfect first. Wink

There are still a few bugs.

To answer your question as to why it works fine in PSPWrite has to do on how piKey runs.

When the "SHIFT" + "a" key is pressed on the keyboard, it doesn't tell the PSP, "Press the 'A' key!".

No.

Instead it's tells the PSP to:

-  Press DOWN x3
-  Press LEFT x3

(Now we are at the far bottom left of the OSK)

-  Press UP x3
-  Press RIGHT x1
-  Press CROSS x4
-  Press R-Trigger x1

That's how piKey works in the OSK.

It's mapped for English characters, but not for other langauges.

Like I previously said... we want to get it perfect first! Wink

Infact, I might write up a document on how piKey works and put it in the next release!

It'll satisfy inquisitive minds.  Grin

You're a very cleaver person!

You should start programming!

Have a good day!

Thanks!

Awesome work !

I just installed the IR enabler, and then used the pikey 0.4 installer, and works perfectly, I will start my first homebrew code as soon as i get my processor (I have a low end computer right now). I wish to give the scene a contribution. I plan to connect the phat to the TV.

For the compatibility record:

I have 3.90 M33-2, 1.5 kernel V2 and phat psp

If you need help on how to get started, let me know!

Don't try and install CYGWIN and all that rubbish!

To install a full dev environment using CYGWIN will be over 1GB.

I can get you an environment with everything included all under 150MB.

Tell me when you wonna get started.  Wink

Oh! You may also wonna try a new OS instead of Windows. You can completely format your C:\ drive and install an Unix based OS. Examples are:

Linux
Ubuntu
Xbuntu

Give me a shout if you need a hand!
