First off I think Pikey is one of the greatest things that's been created for the psp, no doubt. Though i can never get it to work.

When the first pikey was introduced, i downloaded it, and installed it on my 3.10 oe-a', and tried using a palm universal wireless keyboard. at first i thought "huh, it doesn't work", so then i got tydopad and Irda capture tool to see if my IR port was working, and yes it did. Then Fanjita announced that Palm doesn't work now, so I thought "so that's the problem". then there's pikey 0.2. According to a lot of comments the palm did work for them, so I got that, installed it on my 3.10 oe-a', but STILL nothing.

and now there's pikey 0.3, so what I did was I bought a targus universal keyboard AND updated my firmware to 3.40 oe-a, but IT STILL WILL NOT WORK

I configured the keyconfig (or w/e it's called) correctly, I enabled my plugins correctly (and i did it way too many times and realize that it never works), and I have NO OTHER plugins installed other than pikey. may i ask what i am doing wrong?

UPDATE: THERE ARE TWO PLUGINS FOR PIKEY, VSH AND GAME AND I'VE DISCOVERED THAT ONLY THE GAME PLUGIN WORKS, NOT THE VSH, NOW WHAT'S WRONG?

Just to clarify, it doesn't work for anything, including the vsh and web-browser? this may sound stupid, but, did you enable the plugins from the recovery screen? for me, though i use the targus ir keyboard, i would try upgrding to 3.40 OE and reinstalling piKey. Then reenable both VSH AND GAME and setting up the config file. What's the worst that will happen...you'll have a 3.40 OE?

yes, it doesn't work for the xmb, web browser, etc. and like I said i have already updated my firmware to 3.40 oe-a and I have already reinstalled my pikey several times, and I have both plugins enabled, and it still doesn't work (and when i say it doesn't work IT DOESN'T WORK FOR THE XMB, BUT IT WORKS ON HOMEBREW).

are you SURE, check that you have it enabled for the VSH? and if it is, when you installed piKey, did you choose the option that wrote to the flash?

Hi dont know if this will help but i just finished installing.

I was running 3.0x OE and not all modes of piKey worked so I upgraded to 3.40 OE (got all the PBPs and install package from "PSP Updates" ).

Full shutdown.

After that just power back on , ran installer, choosing the option to write to Flash0.

Full shutdown again, power on to recovery, enabled both plugins.

Another full shutdown and was up and running after that.

Other thing is if you are using the universal targus keyboard, the arm thingy that has the LED transmitter has to be really close to my psp, like basically lying on the psp, not straight up as per it's design.

So considering the 3.40 update formats Flash0 as per my understanding, if all that doesn't work i'd say it may be your keyboard.

Good luck!

I don't remember if you were the one I helped over AIM, but the person I did help did not bend the IR port on the Keyboard down to face the PSP (the little tip on the rotating arm of the Targus IR keyboard). Did you?

I think we need more info on exactly how it doesn't work.

You mention that the GAME plugin seems to work, but not VSH.  Does the VSH simply not work at all, or is there something small that just doesn't work quite right?  Is the GAME version working perfectly?

Does your keyboard work in any other apps, e.g. zx81's pspssh homebrew?

Does the pikey sample work?

Does pikey work in v1.50 mode, v3.40 mode, or both or neither?

So far it sounds like it works a bit in some cases, but to get further it's important to identify exactly the conditions and symptoms of it working/not working.

The GAME plugin works perfectly

I'm not sure what you mean by other apps

this is one thing I forgot to mention. when i DO run the pikey sample, the buttons i type does not appear as letters and what not. Instead when i type pikey sample says "Pressed Scancode: 37" or like "Pressed Scancode: 101" and when i type really fast the pikey sample basically slows down, when i press Esc, it says "Pressed Scancode: 1", but it does indeed recognize it as the Esc key

I have it to v1.50 mode because that's what the instructions told me to do

thank you for posting a reply to this almost dead topic, and i hope this helps to see what my problem is.

The same PRX is run for both VSH and GAME modes.  If it's working in GAME, then there's nothing wrong with piKey - it's the OE configuration.

Check your /seplugins/game.txt and /seplugins/vsh.txt files - they should look pretty much the same.  And check that the pikey.prx is turned on in the Plugins section of OE's recovery mode menu, for both VSH and GAME.

well the thing is both plugins are enabled in the recovery mode. and by same prx, you mean the same file(and i did check both text files, it was exactly the same thing, so it still does not work). and what i just thought of another way to look at the problem the coding of my files. Fanjita, will you be willing to download THIS zip file http://big.freett.com/tto...awa/PSPFilesfromtaz0x.zip(it's about 19mb). This zip file includes my files from my psp memory stick and hardware, like the seplugin folder, and a folder containing my files on flash0 and flash1. since i do not know any codings, maybe these files will help you to better understand my problem which is unknown at the moment, if this does not help, or you do not wish to download it for any reasons, i plan to make a video on youtube describing EVERYTHING i did and everything i was told to do and how they will not work. again thank you for your support, i greatly appreciate the help.

That URL fails:

他サイトのhtmlファイルからのリンクでは表示できません。  (Can't link from another site)

but I was able to get around it and have looked at your files.

Try deleting /seplugins/vsh.txt and /seplugins/game.txt from your memory stick, and rerunning the piKey 0.3 installer.  I think there's some odd hangover from 0.2 in those files.
