I just today got my brand new Targus PA870E V2 from the post-office after auctioning it from ebay but I´m having some peculiar problems setting it up with my PSP. The PSP that I own is an older one (TA-079 board) and is currently running 3.40-OE. I did everything as instructed in this visual guide: http://forums.maxconsole....et/showthread.php?t=57243, but after trying keyboard it works quite strange..

For example when trying the "basic pikey sample" program some of the keys work as they should- but almost half of them don't seem to transmit anything to the PSP. I am wondering what might be the cause of this because SOME of the keys work, but not all..

For example theres an small 4 four controller at the lower right corner which gives out these scancodes: 103 (up), 105 (left), 108 (down) but the right direction doesn't work.

I cleared out the seplugins directory before installing and pressed o when asked the flash the onboard memory (as instructed).

I would really appreciate any help you might be able to give me because I don't have the slightest idea of why some keys work and some don't. I have to contact the dealer if it seems that the keyboard itself is defective in some way.

Have you comproate that your keyboard batterys are plenty? I have you same configuration ta-079 + targus v2 + 3.40 OE and work fine.

Perhaps the keyboard are faultly, test with IRCAPTURE program if IR transfer anything with your problem keys.

Yesterday I bought an pair of brand new CR2032 batteries, but still the same problempersists. Where can I the IRCapture program you mentioned? Any other ideas what might be the cause? It´s good to know that you have the exact same configuration as me- the fact that everything works ok with you is an good assurance that there must be something wrong with the actual keyboard.

Yeah, i boy one keyboard on ebay and are faultly, not transmit ir data. You can download ircapture from qj.net, here is it:

http://dl.qj.net/Infra-Re...s/pg/12/fid/416/catid/189

And you can use too a digital camera to see the ir with digital camera, see this post of loonix:

Good luck

I tried IR-capture and the results were quite conclusive: most of the keys don't transmit at all. I also checked the ir transmitter with an digital camera with same results.

I sent the unit back to the seller for replacement. It should be arriving within the next two weeks. Can't wait until I get it. =)

Earlier this week I received an new one (this time from the united states also via Ebay). The earlier one was indeed defective and I got an full refund including postage and such. I must say that I´m quite impressed on how well the new keyboard works but the same time I´m also suprised that there isn't an compability list available. For example the Links2 browser doesn't seem to have Pikey support yet? Or am I wrong?

Some homebrew apps like iR Shell don't allow piKey to run in sync with it, It's a real shame. I even email AhMan about it. If you would like a homebrew application that fully supports IR keybaords, look out for ZX 81's work!
