If you have a keyboard that is at least semi-working in piKey, please post your results here so that we can build a definitive list of what works and what doesn't.

Known good keyboards:

  • Targus Universal IR Keyboard, PA870 (all models)
  • Compaq / HP Foldable IR Keyboard
  • Snap'n'Type IR Keyboard
  • HP Slim IR Keyboard
  • Belkin IR Keyboard (not IrDA)
  • Flexis FX-100 IR Keyboardeyboard
  • Benq G250 IR Gamepad
  • Micro Innovations Foldaway IR Keyboard
  • Micro Innovations IR Datapad
  • Compaq IR Micro Keyboard
  • Freedom IR Keyboard
  • NOVAETS - KIS2 - IR Keyboard
  • Palm Universal Wireless IR Keyboard
  • Hama Palm IR Keyboard
  • Chainpus SK6688 IR Keyboard
  • Sprint PDA Keyboar

Personally, I can only vouch for the Targus PA870.

Additional Information by WaKaRu: Pikey will ONLY work with IR (Infra Red) Keyboards, so asking if PiKey works with the Slim PSP (No IR Port means no IR Keyboard) or by using any other type of keyboards (USB) is out of the question. Usual and common PS/2 keyboards can work through SIO adapters (Check this link if you do not have a clue of what this means)

I've tried out the Palm Universal and it works well except the OSK interprets the shift key as the wrong character, picking one of the European characters instead.

Other than that, it works well on everything else I've tried thus far, though I'm not sure where the escape button maps to on the Palm keyboard.

edit- here is a list of the mapped shifted keys

That is because of the PSP, press the select key until you see the two boxes in the bottom right change to an a and a zero.

piKey attempts to select the right shift (SELECT) settings for the Sony OSK.  On some PSPs (e.g. mine Wink ) this works correctly, on others it doesn't seem to.

I plan in the future to add a setting to the configuration that lets you choose the number of times that it presses SELECT in the different Sony OSKs (browser and XMB), so that it is configurable to suit your PSP.  For now, I'm afraid you need to use SELECT manually, as described by nathan42100.

Excellent, that clears that up.   I just tried it out and it performs beautifully in the OSK.  Thanks for the clarification!

Chainpus SK6688 is compatible too (see here http://c.brunner.free.fr/wordpress/?p=19) same aspect as Hama Infrared Smart Keyboard (36990).

It will be included too in Pikey 0.4. It is a nice keyboard, it has 2 infrared, allowing you to input even having PSP and keyboard on your knees Wink

Check here for modified PSPDA, PSPSSH, PSPWRITE and AFKIM (doens't work yet) for Chainpus SK6688 : http://c.brunner.free.fr/psp/chainpus/

It would be easier if the main (1st) post gets updated with the compatible keyboard models.. rather than letting one scroll/search through the thread... especially when the thread gets longer and spans multiple pages....

I just seen AirTouch keyboards:

http://www.blueunplugged.com/p.aspx?p=115413
http://www.productclash.c...rtual-laser-keyboard.html

(loads being sold in Trocadero, London, UK)

and was wondering whether piKey will support AirTouch keyboards also? With AirTouch we can fold it into our pockets, where Targus keyboards can't.

@ andrewwan1980

Fair comment about the 1st post.

Current piKey compatible keyboards are infrared (IR) keyboards only to be used with Classic PSPs. So guess what? USB keyboards are not supported, hence AirTouch Keyboards will NOT work.

Hmmm... not sure. I'll try and found out. In the mean time, try it out! Smiley

You need to change the settings in PSPIRKeyB.ini.

Everything is self explanitry.

Good luck!
