HI,

I have a 3.52 M33-4 phat psp. I have installed piKey_0.4_Installer and the IRDA patcher with no problems. All 4 plugins are enabled (no other plugins are in use). I set up my new targus PA870 wireless keyboard, move the antenna so it's near the infra red on the psp and switch on my psp ... nothing happens. I try using the mouse on the keyboard to control the xmb and no response. I run the pikey sample app and no response.

Any ideas?

I am thinking either

- batteries aren't working with the keyboard. Is there any way to test this? The batteries were already in place when I unpacked it
- my IRDA isn't working (psp is 3 years old). any way to test this?
- Pikey didn't install properly. After installation I removed the folders from the PSP folder (not the files in the SEPlugins folder that were created during the plugin). I tried reinstalling pikey and the IRDA patcher to see if it worked but no luck

Any ideas would be very much appreciated Wink

Hmm.... Let's do a few tests! Yey!

First check the batteries:

The quickest and easiest way to test if your batteries are dead is to pop them into your mouth and shake them about! You should feel a little tingling sensation.

Done? Ok now wipe the you disgusting animal!

I haven't time to write up how to test IRDA, but if the first test proves that your batteries aren't dead then it's most likely to be a faulty keyboard. I've never heard of IRDA failing on a PSP...

Have a good day!

easiest way to see if the batteries are working in it and also to see if it is sending anything is Take a digital camera or even just a camera phone point the device at the phone and hit buttons if you see the white light emitting from the sender ir led than your good

The taste test tells me that the batteries aren't dead

Are you saying that the targus ir should light up when I hit the keys if I point the antenna towards a camera or phone? The ir doesn't light up at all - I have no way of knowing if it's sending anything or not

oh, and I'm using a US-bought psp and a sandisk 4MB memory stick card (I read somewhere that these might cause issues)

Sugar!

Same issues! piKey 0.3 works but not 0.4!

Well I'm off for 2 weeks, but when I get back I will work on fixing that very odd issue!

Thanks!
