I know you need a wifi max to do this but is it possible to create a homebrew app that could connect to the XLink server. i'm not a coder but was just wondering if it could be done, I just thought of it and could sleep without asking someone lol

Hi,

I'm a coder... not a good one, but I know my PSP stuff!  Cheesy

It's certainly possible as the proof is out there! Dark_AleX edited the "Network Update" option on the PSP to access his server instead. Instead of checking fo the latest official firmware update and performing a download, it performs and custom firmware check and downloads that instead!

So yeah it's very possible.

What is XLink Kai by the way?

Maybe by editing existing code, your little idea can be put into practise. Cheesy

Ad Hoc is strictly PSP to PSP. Not PSP to server to PSP. Wink

@Angelo

That´s the purpose of XLink Kai... it makes you believe your PSP you´re playing AdHoc when you´re really playing through internet with other players using Xlink kai as well.

Well as I said in my first reply...

Hmm... I've not looked into WiFi for the PSP at all.

I'll have to see how the XLink works... sounds very intersesting.

Does this work for normal UMD's? If it does, no modifications have to be made to the homebrew application that support AdHoc.

Unfortunatly I cannot answer this question in depth as it's out of my knowledge.

If you post this on PSP-Programming or PS2Dev Forums, you'll get replies by people who really know their stuff!

Sorry  couldn't answer you questin in depth.
