Soes I was reading the furum rulez and I come across that were not supposed to steal games.
Thats fine with me p2p takes too long anyway. I was wondering if there is a way to rip the UMDs that I already bought (therefore not illegal). My Reason for this is that the UMD drive is slow and loud so my teacher hears it when i try to play games at school. Games run from the memstick are silent and they run faster.

Long story short if anybody could throw a link to a UMD ripper this way I would be grateful Wink

you have 5.00m33-6?
when in XMB press 'SELECT'
switch the 'USB Device' to 'UMD Disc'
connect your USB cabe
and simply drag & drop the .iso file to your PC Wink

for further compression to the .CSO format and so on i use UMDgen.

Using the Memorystick also preserves Battery life so you can fight those nasty aliens even longer.

Nope, none that i know of...
you might try the 'other' UMD rippers you can find by using google.
some might support that but i prefere to open the isos afterwards and throw out those pesky update eboots that are often included.

Once your UMD image is loaded in UMDGen press Ctrl/C or file/save as/ commpressed cso, will take a while depending on the spec of your PC. As Loonix said delete update files and remove any dummy files to reduce the overall size of cso file.

UMDGen has a dummy file search facility which automatically resizes the files.

Google for further tips for reducing size, i.e. cutting out video scenes etc

Depending on your PSP setup there are 2 old utilities that are available to rip straight to the MS but there put in strange places so you can't instantly play after ripping. Also I've gotten a few bad rips with them from UMDs that I own and play after wards. I hadn7t know about that M33-6 trick and it's totally awesome! So sweet to have a function like that. Thanks for the tip.

Will downgrade/CW upgrade in Japan.
