Possible exploit on 2.81, ps1 emulator starts
Hi all
I know you all have seen a lot of "possible exploit" posts so don't be mad, one more wont hurt hehe.
So, what happened was...
I have had 2 psp one 1.5 and one 2.81, by mistake i inserted the memory card on the 281 and when i tried to execute the ps1 emulator it started.
No "corrupted" error message, it just starts, i get the "starting application psp logo" it reads from the memory card and then crashes.
So, if all programs for 1.50 get a corrupted message on higher firmware why does psx1 emulator starts? And most important could this be used for an exploit?
thanks for reading

Do you mean custom firmware? I want to keep one psp at 1.50 and use the other for experiences like putting the custom firmware on if and when an exploit is available for 2.81 or upper.

look you can go directly from 1.50 to 3.52M33 then 3.52M33-4 then 3.71M33 then 3.71M33-4 then 3.80M33 use network upgrade and go to 3.80M33-4. download the 1.50 Kernel installer and the 1.50 PBP and put it in the root, then it will be the same, but all for the better.

Kloplop please let him be,
he has it the way he wants =)
and maybe, just maybe he has found a useful thing.
I aint no programmer but if it is possible to circumvent the PSP's protection from the point after it accepts the POPs loader it might be possible to run unsigned code.
Maybe you should take this to the ps2dev forum,
maybe they will just diss you but dont let it discourage you, nearly everything can lead to an exploit.
The problem will be that the 'ultimate' exploit, the Pandora Battery has taken much energy that went into the serch of exploits.
Many developers may think of it as unnecesary.
Thank you for the report!

no need to go from 3.52m33-4 to 3.71m33 before 3.80m33
you can go direct from 3.52m33
my upgrade goes
pandora to 1.50
1.50 to 3.52m33
3.52m33 to 3.80m33
3.80m33 autoupdate to infinity
simple as pie
as for other exploits that are irrelevant of pandora.. go for it dude... its a geeks world
