Hi everyone. First, let me apologize profusely if this question has been asked/answered already. I did a search for the question, but did not see it answered anywhere (though my forum search skills may just be lacking). Now, on to the question.

I have been completely out of the PSP loop for a while, and am just now getting back into it. Now that I am, I would like to buy a new memory stick pro duo - my current biggest is 512MB, and I'd like to get at least an 8GB stick. Ages ago I remember reading something about the larger memory sticks not working well with PSP HomeBrew. I believe it said that sizes over 8GB would not play well with HomeBrew applications. Is this still the case? For that matter, was this ever the case?

I know that the PSP itself can (or will soon be able to) read memory sticks up to 32GB, but I am specifically asking if there is a size-limit for working with HomeBrew. Intuitively, I would think that there isn't, but I figured I'd ask to be safe.

Thanks in advance!

Hi There!

I cant say for shure since i am a budget buyer '^^
my 4GB Sandisk Stick works fine (20€)
I read that 8GB's work fine if you dont have official firmware lower than 5.01
(in 5.00 there is supposedly an error when downloading from the playstation store)
I dont know if custom firmware solves that issue.

Is say with 4GB you are on the safe side. you can have loads of stuff on that and they are affordable.

Thanks, Loonix... I remember you from when I used to post here years ago... it's glad to see you're still around and still being helpful : )

4GB is probably big enough, but I was hoping for 8GB minimum, though ; )

Do you happen to know if the store-error could be avoided by downloading to, say, a PS3 first and then transferring to a PSP (or downloading to a different memory card first, and then moving it to the 8GB)?

Also, just so I am sure, 5.00 m33-6 is the most current custom, right?

Yea, sometimes it gets a bit lonely but some veterans are still around  Cool

In this matter i can realy only tell you what Google tells me since i never had something bigger than 4GB in my hands.

The latest CFW at tha moment should be 5.02GEN but i still stick wich 5.00m33
Since the bug with the playstation store is announced to be fixed in 5.01 hopefully later CFW should have no problem with that... *pray*

I'm using a 8GB Sony stick and haven't experienced any troubles with it on M33-6. My PSP is a red 2000.

It's better to regret something that you have done than to regret something that you haven't.
Will downgrade/CW upgrade in Japan.
