IR Toys

Because we all love the PSP's "older brother" IR feature, using our keyboard. Why not get a couple of toys, which ofc, ll be controled by the PSP! I'm talking about a car or an helicopter (keep reading to know more about them Wink).

IR Helicopter

PicoozIR v4 (homebrew's name/version)

by Pacopad

Brands/Models Supported (1#):

- Fairy (1st pic) (2#)
- Picooz (2nd pic)
- Picooz Sky Chalenger

(1st pic)

(2nd pic)

Description:

You can Take Off or Stop Engine, Steer R or L, Thrim R or L and Trottle Up or Down.

Cool Feature:

The cockpit has a chronometer, which ll count the time (min:sec) that your engine is turned on (you don't want your heli to crash, do you?! XD) (3rd pic).

(3rd pic)

Bonus Feature:

You can Start or Stop a music player (it ll randomly choose a track from your MUSIC folder).

Notes:

1# Perhaps other brands/models IR helis can be controlled by the PSP using Picooz. These are just the ones that Pacopad coded specificly to. Go ahead and list them of!

2# I own a Syma Fairy. There are several brands selling this model, but Syma's one is the best.

IR Car

PSPQsteer v1.0.0 (Beta) (homebrew's name/version)

by Pacopad

Brands/Models Supported (3#):

- Takara Tomy Qsteer (4th pic)
- Takara Tomy/Tamiya Qsteer Buggy (5th pic) (4#)

(4th pic)

(5th pic)

Description:

You can Move Forward or Backware, Turn Right or Left and Dash (5#).

Notes:

3# Again, perhaps other brands/models IR cars can be controlled by the PSP using PSPQsteer. These are just the ones that Pacopad coded specificly to.

4# I own a Takara Tomy/Tamiya Qsteer Buggy Hot Shot (6th pic).

5# The homebrew is in french and the gfx work is still poor. But, as Pacopad said, "it's still a beta version"! Wink

Very nice! I have an Esky Lama v4 which is pretty cool.  Cool

It's a nice use of the IR feature, now all we need is a camera!
