Adjustment Suggestions to the UHTG

Place Suggestions here for the Ultimate How-To Guide. I'll edit as needed. It's still beta by all means, but I'm on a time constraint with work.

u could also put websites for homebrew aswell
are u really sure you want to take on this big task alone, might be a bit much for some1 with work and all ....

If I were you I would link to the tutorials for the different downgraders also (2.00/20.1, 2.80, and Lumines and GTA:LCS) instead of just pointing to the list of "People who can help you to downgrade using **whatever**".
I would also remove any references to Fast Loader or I'll have to remove them myself }:(

alright, removing the reference to Fast Loader v0.7 however it itself is not ISO talk. It is Legal Homebrew, that has as much potential for illicit use as iRShell and M33.

The reason for the removal request is that IRShell and CFW (M33) both allow for many many many many other stuff which is not "politically" incorrect in these forums, whereas FastLoader is ONLY useful for..., well, you know what.
Thanks.

I'll grant you that. But it can be used in legal terms, as I do.

I've never doubted that for a second, but still no ISO discussion (whether is for legitimate use or not) allowed in the forums.
By the way, the guide is now sticky and has been locked as requested. Nice to see how it's getting good shape.
Thanks for your help, I'm sure you'll guide will clear things up a little bit more to some noobs visiting the forums

Thanks, unfortunately, I did some typos, and I'd like to to include some more homebrew suggestions, as well as include more terms. It dawned on me that a newbie wouldn't know what a scener is if it bit'em in the butt.
I.E. for typos
Step 2
.... Right down this information for later use.
I'm an idiot, who did a 2nd grader mistake.

How about converting PSX games Wakaru? Can we mention ISO's then?
You need to create an ISO to convert it to an EBOOT.
Surely the ISO's Fanjita doesn't like people talking about are ones of UMDs. Besides, aren't PSX games dead like SNES and NES? I haven't seen them in any store I've been to.
If it's O.K to download those ROMS that means that PSX piracy can't exist right?
...But then, Sony are selling them on the PSN.
Man... wish I didn't take up religious studies. I'm having a debate with myself here!

No ROM/ISO files from any SYSTEM (No matter what how old the sytem is) can't be downloaded legally nowadays, other than those purchased from the official stores, owners of the game copyrights (Such as the PSN).
In the past these games from old systems (Atari, Spectrum, NES, SNES, Master System, Megadrive/Genesis, old Pc games...) have been called ABANDONWARE, as an attempt to justify the legality of downloading them.
That is the reason why you will not find a website to download ROMs or ISO files (Most of them, all have been chased up by SONY, Nintendo, SEGA, you name it, and therefore shut down as a result of the pressure on them).
I dare you try to find a direct download link to the ROM "Mario Bros" for instance, and see if you can find it anywhere. (Something that 7-10 years ago could have been done in less than 5 secons whereas now you would have to use P2P software in order to do it).
Bottom line is that no matter what, the direct (or P2P) and free download of these files is not (and will not be) legal.
I guess you know the answer then.

Oh yes, there are sites for every game under the sun if you know where to look!
It's a shame those sites aren't so... clean if you get me.
