These are probably dumb questions:
1) If I were to get CFW 3.52 M33 would it have all the stuff that official 3.52 has on it?; like connecting to a PS3 over internet.
2) Is 3.52 M33 able to run all the homebrews that there are?
3) [this probably will start a flame war] What is the best CFW?

1) Yes.
2) Almost all. Some few homebrews haven't been updated for these CFW, but a lot of them will run perfectly.
3) That really depends on may factors. Many people will say that the higher the firmware version, the better, because it includes all the official updates plus homebrew.

1. No o.O
You will have to install the Location free player options manualy.
They where taken out to save space in the Flash.
To enable it you will need to make some room in the flash by deleting
Fonts you dont use and maybe some background images
and to dump the original 3.52 firmware manualy via
an app called PSAR Dumper
Best you do a search with the keywords "Locationfree reinstall"

sorry that i cant give a direct link at the moment

ok 3.52 M33 can do ALL the things that work in PSP version 3.52 apart from the location free player. It can also run ALL homebrew (although some plugins are abit glitchy) and PS1 games!  Grin.

oh and ignore Loonix. Location Free player is streaming tv to your PSP not steaming PS3 content to your PSP Wink. PS3 streaming is called Remote Play  Wink

As for the best custom firmware ive gotta say unless you want your PSP customised with crazy fonts and icons 3.52 M33 is your best bet. If you want it customised 3.03 OE C is pretty good too.

Since LocationFree is a important feature for a PS3 owner the custom firmware defenetly has not 'all the stuff' in it.
But i let myself carry away, sorry for that.

Remote play is indeed possible without any modifications.

Do not take this personal, the following goes for everyone, please give enough information in the subject of the message so in future people will be able to know what the message is about without need of having to open it. These forums are done by everyone for everyone, so keep the forum as readable as possible. That will save me from modifying them myself as well Wink THANKS!

By the way, the answers:

1) Yes, with the exception of the Location Free Player. Expensive device which not many people own. There is a way to get it working, use google if you are interested. Personally I would go for the cheapest alternative for streaming video content over to your PSP (PimpStreamer anyone? Wink)

2) Yes, most of them. (99.999%). You may encounter some issues, i.e. some homebrews using WiFi will not work with WPA encryption if they have not been updated by the coder. They will probably work under WEP encryption though.

3) That will depend on your needs. I personally have 3.52 M33 installed (no updates yet). The good thing of them all is that you can install them and try until you find the one that suits you best.

Mind you, you could alway devhook your location free player... That's what I do, plus with devhook no bricking and you can customise your theme easily.

Email me at:

If you wish to install devhook... I'm happy to help Smiley
