Upgrading to a OFW from CFW 3.71 [urgent]

First of all hello everyone, you might be surprised to see this here but I am serious, please help.

So I have a fat PSP, it has CFW 3.71 M33-2 installed on it, but it is damaged and I want to send it to the place where I bought it, but since downgrading voids warranty, I need to install a OFW before I do that. I tryed a network upgrade, to install OFW 5.02 but it gave me the error "Memory stick could not be read" when trying to install it. I also can't overclock the PSP CPU, the PSP crashes when i try to do that.

So what can I do? Please help me, I have just one day

The best scenario would be if you had your original NAND dump
you can flash it with every newer version of the 'Despertar del Cementerio' by Dark Alex, if not...

download the 5.00 update eboot from for example HERE
and copy it to /PSP/GAME/UPDATE/UPDATE.PBP
(if it does not exist... create it.)
in the Game menu now you should be able to find the update.

when what i propose sucseeds you cant convert your Battery back to a normal batterywith your PSP!!!!

If you can build an DC8
That allows you to flash OF 5.00 without the Network update.
After that you should be able to update to 5.02 OFW.

Update via the CFW (install 4.01 M33) way and then just update from CFW to OFW via the PSP.

I think DAX removed OFW checks. I think he made it safe to upgrade to CFW to OFW.
