well.. you know you have a TA88v3 if pandora does not work '^^

also
did you follow our guide or did you install some other IPL loader (UPMS or something like that)?
with those you might need to hold the left trigger while inserting the Battery and hold it down until you are in a menu.

Does the 1000 battery indicator turn on when you insert the battery but not the magic stick,
Does the 2000 battery indicator turn on when you insert the battery but not the magic stick.

Does the DDC Menu load on the 1000?

Did you have another magic stick version before on that stick (maybe the bootblock still exists. format it on the PC and afterwards in the PSP)

I had follow the guide exactly as it said and did try hold the L shoulder button while turning it on, also i tried the other buttons while trying to boot it up (R Trig, X, [ ], O, and ^)
On the 1000 the battery indicator does turn on and loads up regulary but does not load up the DDC menu, whilst the 2000 battery indicator turns on for about 5 sec. b4 shutting off completely.
And no i did not have another MMS data as it was a new 2G MS.
BTW what does bootblock mean, is it that it won't be able to boot up?

If it does not work on the classic PSP's something is wrong with your Memorystick.

I should have said 'bootsector' it is what makes the Memorystick boot.
But some older versions do not work on slim PSP's (based on firmware 1.50)

I just experimented with firmwares and ChickHEN...

if everything fails AND you are ABSOLUTELY shure your PSP is no TA88-V3 and no 3000 (if it is it WILL BRICK (Brick -> not recoverable broken)
you can try this:
update to 5.03
install ChickHen R2
install Hellcat's recovery flasher 1.20
place the 3.71 update as 371.pbp in the recovery directory
run ChickHen
run the recovery flasher
install 3.71M33-4
From here do whatever you want
you should be on 3.71M33-4 CFW and be able to install any CFW above 3.70 you like.

It worked on my Classic PSP and i read reports that it works on slim 2000 PSPs as well.
No pandora needed ^^

Yo loonix i tried reformatting the MS via computer (not psp) and redid the guide all over again and guess what... it worked!!! also i borrowed an psp slim from gamestop a few days ago and used the chickHEN to hack it and it also worked w/out bricking it!
Thank You for helping me out you are the best!

btw the latest brite psp is not hackable yet right?, because it has the TA88v3 motherboard or the new TA91 if i heard correctly.

That is good to hear Smiley
Sometimes it does not seem to 'take' the first time even if you do it by the book.

At the moment i dont know about the TA91 MoBo but the TA88v3 and the slim&brite (3000) PSP's cant take Custom firmware
(I just read that you can run it DevHook style on TA88v3)
Still you can use ChickHEN 1.20 on PSP-3000 with firmware 5.03 as long as you stay away from flash modification.

By Flash modding do you mean the CXMB theme modding or the flash gaming?

I lost my magic memory stick.  When I switch on my PSP, it doesn't boot up (only black screen and nothing happens).  Can anybody upload the files in the magic memory stick so that I can download it and rescue my PSP?  Thank you very much.

nope, sorry.
they contain copyrighted material.
but be ashured that not everyone sees it that way.
have a look at google for easy installers for pandora.
but be aware of viruses and the legal situation you get yourself into.
