The 'trio loader' is a 'IPL' (initial Program Loader)
it is a bootblock that allows to boot 3 different 'systems'
That bootblock is written to your Memorystick and is activated when you boot the PSP with a pandora battery.
if your psp is in 'normal state' it will boot your PSP normal from the internal flash.
if you hold the left trigger during the boot it will take you to the Pandora menu. (for fat psp's)
if 'HOLD' is on and the left trigger is held during boot it should take you to the Despertar Cementerio V3. (for slim PSP's)

thanks to the first option you should be able to go to the UPMS installer and make your battery normal again.
(i reccomend to write only the serial!, the backed up one preferably Wink )

if you install a recent custom firmware you can swich that around as often as you like in the recovery menu.

There is a 'registry hacks' section Wink

hmm, i am assuming, since you speak of only 2 possibilities that you have Despertar del cementario v3.

then X would install 3.71m33 and the O 3.71 OF.
Sincce you have a pandora set... you can allways go back Wink
shere wont be any harm, just inconvenience.

What the heck? Auto Battry thingy???
What are you using?

please specify what pandora menu you use and dunt use Co0l Writez or what u b usin dere.

Please describe what you see when you start the pandora menu.

if you can indeed change the battery from the main menu you are using a boot menu i have never seen and would risk to make your pandora 'normal' indeed.
But i cant tell anything from what you have written, maybe i am to stupid.

//edit: to stupid, not too stupid, sorry

There are some different magic memorysticks out there, i know at least 4 different menus
all with their own tricks and reasons to exist.

some will do nothing if you put in the battery but boot to the XMB
some will give you the plain 3.71m33 installer (x to install 3.71m33 0 to install 3.71 OF)
some will give you multiple choices.

The original pandora installer from this page gives you 3 choices:
X: to downgrade using ms0:/UPDATE.PBP (usualy a 1.50 OFW update)
O: to backup nand to ms0:/nand-dump.bin (A backup of the full flash of your PSP)
[]: to restore nand from ms0:/nand-dump.bin (that will re-load a backup of your flash to the PSP, its a good option when something whent horribly wrong.)
please make a backup of the NAND before downgrading, and when it worked after too! name then accordingly and safe them on a secure place.

so. You tell me what you see and i try to tell you if its safe.

@ ncejay

The buttons swap do not matter. Just follow the On-Screen instructions. If it says to press X, then press X. Full stop.

@ NZHawk

The first released Pandora's Battery Software downgrades the PSP to 1.50 only. After that you can install whichever CFW you want.

In order to install 3.71 M33-2 straightaway you'll have to install the "Despertar del Cementerio" v3 from Dark_Alex on top of the regular Pandora's Battery.

@ noob

If you want to do it the easy and legal way then Yes.

There's the "other" way which involves opening up the battery to perform a usually "irreversible" hardware mod and finding the unencrypted SONY files to be copied in the memory stick.

If you want to do the 1st, we're here to help.... but if you go for the 2nd, you're on your own but there's some information in the forums about the battery hardware mod if you want to throw a search.

EDIT:
Forgot to mention the option of buying the Datel TOOL battery instead of doing the hardware mod. This option stil requires downloading the decrypted files  copyrighted by SONY, so I don't recommend it either, but as another viable option it needs mentioning.

I was going to buy the tool battery is there a way to downgrade with it?? or are thoose files like secert or hidden??
