Hi SonicPro

You are right, you cant make a Pandora battery with 5.02 Official firmware.
Your Friend is more lucky have a look at THIS TREAD for further details.
Still he needs a unpatched copy of the game Lumines (look at the above link for further details)
He will then be able to downgrade his PSP to 1.50 Official firmware and from there upgrade to custom firmware.
Please read the entire topic before you do anything and make shure you understood everything Wink

No, you need a PSP ALREADY running ANY CFW (or 1.50 Official Firmware) to create a Pandora´s Set.

Your only choice is to borrow someone else´s PSP (that runs CFW) to convert your Memory stick and battery or have a look at  this Thread and look for:
  • Somebody local you could meet to unbrick your PSP by using his pandora´s battery set in it or
  • Somebody local -or not- to him him your memory stick and battery in the post, so he can get them converted for you and then receive them back in the post to use in the broken PSP to unbrick it.

Good luck.

I am sorry.
it is as Wakaru said.
3.50 was the last Firmware in which a (non pandora) exploit was found.
Still you can hardmod a battery (realy not reccomended) or buy a Datel Tool battery (if you have too much money and no one to buy presents for but yourself ':) )
and find a illegal way to make a memorystick into a magic memorystick
(there are some programs for that but you wont find any support for them here)

I realy reccomend that you have a look at the 'Friendly people with Pandora' thread ^^

Best luck to you!

Ok so this is my problem.
I have a pandora battery but I dont know about my Ms. This is what happens.  I turn my psp off. Then i take my ms and then put my battery in. The green LED power light goes on but my screen stays black until I put in a ms.
Im just wondering if its my pandora or ms.

//edit by Loonix

I am not shure if i understod right.
1.) you remove the Memorystick, AC adapter and the Battery from the PSP.
2.) Then you insert the Magic memorystick.
3.) Now if you insert the Pandora battery your PSP the power LED turns green (this indicates that the Battery works)
if it does not boot from the Memorystick the Stick is not OK.

I am certain I did the steps correct and... yes, everything is placed where they should be (ex: E:\PSP\GAME\pandora_battery%). I notice that I have to corrupt data icons on my Game and two that work. The two that work are the '%' files. When I click on the "Pandora Battery Firm. Installer" item on my PSP a message reads "This game cannot be started. The date is corrupted". I have reason to believe it's because I am at Version 5.02. Please send me a message Personal Message because this seems to be the only place that will answer my questions!

P.S.: Yes I am using a Fat PSP and Yes I have a Pandora Battery.

You cant run homebrew programs on a PSP with official firmware.
you need a PSP with custom firmware to write certain files to the Memorystick.

When you have both, the Magick stick and the Pandory battery place the stick in the PSP with original firmware.
Then insert the Pandora battery. Your PSP should boot without you switching it on.

Wakaru (and everyone else)

I am having a problem very similar to Casey44's (page 4 of this thread)...

Currently running a v1.5 (NEVER been up/down-graded). Actually, haven't used the PSP in a couple of years either.... I bought it a few months after it hit the market initially so I suppose its the "fat" psp.   Undecided

Anyways following the N00bz tutorial, I get until step 14 and then I am stuck. No icons are appearing in my "Game" folder when I browse the memory stick through XMB. I tried Casey44's solution as well (i.e. PSP formatted it, copied the mapstructure and pasted it after mspformat). Folder path is correct. Eboot is renamed UPDATE. Since I am in OFW 1.5, the folder created is GAME (than GAME150). Memory card is 2GB Sandisk pro duo magicgate (translucent body). Have standard 1800 mAH Li-ion for battery. I just don't get it... why are the icons not showing up?  Huh Angry

To make sure the memory card wasn't corrupt... I formatted it via PC, then mspformat, followed by pasting original mapstructure but the results were same... step 14 is in my face like Great Wall of China!!

Am I doing something wrong here?
