Hey, if you have access to a CFW'd psp, i suggest you use hellcats installler, all you need is the eboot renamed as UPDATE.pbp in the root, and it does everything for you n your CFW'd psp. by the way, you'll need the 1.5 kernel add-on and the kernel folder in recovery set to game150 though the hellcats program can be put in the normal GAME folder. so much easier, and for restoring the serial, i don't see how they pandorize it cause if you pandorize it, it changes the battery serial to 0xfffffff, but when you normalize or write the battery serial from file, they give you a serial that comes with their program, or if you had saved the battey serial, in your memstick, there should be batser.bin, thats the battery serial, you can fiddle around with the serial in hex workshops. IF you have a batser.bin, the program should autodetect...

Thanks to this guide, and wakaru, I now have a very simple way to downgrade, and upgrade at any time, any place.

I have a pandora's battery which I made out of a spare battery of mine, and a magic memory stick that ALSO HAPPENS to contain the files necessary to upgrade from 1.50 > 3.52 M33 > 3.52 M33-4 > 3.90 M33.

I have a magic memory stick with all the update files, so I downgrade using the pandora's battery, then put back in the regular battery and upgrade to cfw right then and there.  The upgrade part I thought up all by myself  Grin

Thanks to all who have helped me!

I did it your way as well, helped out people at school, a pandora, and a normal battery + magic mem stick like you did it, in my fat kit, now, i have just my psp, with UPMS + Sleep Fix(booster's multi-ipl loader). Im using my pandora as a normal battery... EAT THAT =P

Well, mine's a spare that was lost for a long time anyway.  I was doing fine without it, so it's not hurting me.  I'll be fine  Grin

(8002014C). for that matter, i get the same error on all homebrew apps. no matter what the settings are on my psp. (tried them all). i can play psp and psx games fine. none of the solutions given for this error work. HELP, please.

Boot to the recovery menu, go to configuration, go to game folder homebrew, and make sure it's 3.80 kernel...I think.

If that doesn't work then try 1.50 kernel.  One of them will probably do the trick.

You need to set the kernet to 1.50, but of course you need to install the 1.50 Kernel Patch first or otherwise it will not work.

Remember that from 3.60 M33 CFW (and over) the 1.50 kernel modules (only for FAT PSPs) need to be installed separately.

If you've a Slim PSP you cannot run 1.50 kernel modules, so you need to use a alternative homebrew that does the same but that runs in 3.XX kernel (Not the original Pandora's from the Team C+D, as it only runs in 1.50 kernel) You can find links to those alternatives in the first post.

Ah! I see your problem.

Set your kernel in the recover to 3.90 and make sure you install the 1.50 addon kernel pack v2!

Good luck!

Okay. I want soembody to answer this straight up. No going round in circles anymore. WHY the fck does my psp not boot to the menu with the slim pandora's battery. I have a SLIM PSP with 3.80M33 INSTALLED (yes I have checked my system info) and I have a slim JigKick/Pandora's battery that I ordered off ebay. It IS an authentic Pandora's battery for Slim because I managed to install CFW on my PSP Slim.

Ever since I did the upgrade from the OFW that came preinstalled to 3.80M33 my Jigkick/Pandora's battery does not boot the PSP. As soon an the battery is inserted, the green light on the PSP immediatley turns on and stays ON. Nothing else happens and the screen is still OFF!

Two questions:
Is it normal behavior for the battery to power up the PSP the moment it is inserted and why doesnt my PSP boot up with the battery?
I have ordered an official NON JigKick/Pandora's battery for PSP SLIM from Sony and it is on its way in the mail as I type this. Will it boot the PSP to the regular menu or do I need to do something else?

Note: Of course as you can imagine the PSP does turn on normally with the AC Adapter. But the batteries are useless unless they boot the PSP to the menu. By 'menu' I always mean the blue one with Games/Network/System etc. and NOT the Pandora's boot menu.

Please be as thorough and as specific as you can in your advice.

Cheers and thanks,
Paul.

@ Subspark

I believe here there's a error of concept. Pandorised batteries can only boot PSPs into service mode, and this is the Pandora Menu when you already had inserted the magic memory stick, or not boot at all (black screen and green light) without it.

The regular "blue menu" you made reference to is called XMB (Cross Media Bar). In order to boot to that you need a regular battery or connect the PSP to the mains, or un-pandorise your battery

Read the troubleshooting section of this guide in order to find out how to unpandorise your battery so you can use it as a regular battery again in case you converted it via software (If you did the hardware mod, then forget about it).

Also there is a way to boot into the XMB using the pandorised battery, explained as well in there.

Moreover if you install Despertar del Cementerio v5 & time machine in the magic memory stick, you will be able to choose booting into pandora's menu or the regular XMB by a button press combination upon StartUp.
