- Q - I´m getting the error " The Game Cannot Be Run (8002014C)" when running Pandora´s Firmware Installer.
- A - You are trying to run the homebrew software in the PSP that you intend to downgrade but you need a homebrew-compatible PSP to run homebrew (1.50 or Custom Firmware based on 1.50 Kernel). If you´re trying this on a Slim PSP running CFW the original Pandora´s Software will NOT work since it requires to be run on 1.50 kernel, you have to use Pandora Installer for 3.xx kernels by HellCat instead (Keep reading below).

My Problem:
I Have A Hacked Psp.. Its Running Custom Firmware 3.71 m33-4 .. i can play iso\cso games.. but once in awhile i get a game that says "this game cannot be run" this is normally fix but deleting the game in recopying it back to my psp.. i have many working games.. i have custom icons etc.. but when i load pandoras firmware installer or w\e it says the game cannot be run... any ideas?

Ahh.. The Last Part.. Pandora installer for 3.xx kernels... <-- instead of the other files do i use these ones

Make sure that the GAME folder is set for 3.xx kernel and copy pandora's firmware installer in the GAME150 folder.
Alternatively you can leave the GAME folder set for the 1.50 Kernel and then you can copy the pandora's firmware installer in the GAME folder then.

Either way it is clearly explained in the guide so it is just a matter of reading and following it to the letter.

My friend has a fat psp running CFW, I have a 3.80 OFW slim. I understand how to create the memory stick and pandora with this guide but I have a few questions.

What firmware will my slim psp end up with by following this guide exactly? And are there any other steps I need to take to get that CFW on my psp after following this?

Edit : So it downgrades to 1.50, but the slim psp cannot run that? I am confused with what I need to do.

@ Geelo

You are right about the Slim PSP being incompatible with 1.50 Kernel. That is why the guide explains clearly that this PAndora stick will only be compatible with the Fat PSP.

Quote
What is it?
-----------

A universal PSP unbricker / downgrader by the Prometheus project, also known as Team C+D (Create & Destroy).

It´s a set consisting of a Jigkick Battery and a Magic Memory Stick which will allow you to:
  • Unbrick and downgrade any PSP-100* (TA-079 - TA-086) (Old "fat" PSPs).
  • Downgrade any PSP-100* (TA-079 - TA-086) from any SONY official firmware (i.e. 3.71) or CFW back to 1.50

It also says, in the troubleshooting section what you need in order to make it compatible with the Slim PSP.

Quote
- Q - Will Pandora work for Slim PSPs?
- A - This initial Pandora version featured in this guide will NOTdowngrade/unbrick Slim PSPs on its own. Nevertheless Dark_Alex has released an application called "El Despertar Del Cementerio", which is a Universal Pandora´s Battery version capable of unbrick and/or downgrade ANY PSP (Both Fat or Slim) straight to Custom Firmware 3.71 M33-2.

In order to make the stick compatible with your Slim PSP, you just need to follow an extra step, which is download the "Universal Unbricker" (AKA Despertar del Cementeriov3) from Dark_Alex´s homepage, decompress it on the memory stick and follow a couple of instructions already explained in the README.TXT file contained in the ZIP.

After that the memory stick will be usable for both Classic and Slim PSPs and it will install either CFW 3.71 M33-2 or OFW 3.71.

If you're not rushing I suggest you wait a few days until Dark_Alex releases "Despertar del cementerio" v4 which will install CFW 3.80 M33-5 instead.

///EDIT///

Actually, the "Despertar del cementerio" v4 which will install CFW 3.80 M33-5 has come out today Cheesy

Thanks a bunch for the quick reply, you really cleared it up for me! Sorry if the questions answers were obvious, it's just very overwhelming trying to do this for the first time.

In the readme.txt for Despertar del Cementerio v4 it says:

"Download 1.50, 3.40 and 3.80 update eboots and copy them to ms root with
150.PBP, 340.PBP and 380.PBP"

Are these the Dark Alex eboots from his website or are they official files from Sony?

Thanks.

@ crankcaller

They´re the official Sony EBOOT.PBP Updates which need to be renamed to 150.PBP, 340.PBP and 3.80 PBP.

The msipl.bin file is always generated in the root of your memory stick.
You have to copy it to your Hard Drive first, precisely to C:\PANDORA\msinst (try Copy e:\msipl.bin C:\PANDORA\msinst\ )and then you can run the DOS command msinst E msipl.bin

It is quite clearly explained in the guide anyway :-/

I have a question about the battery as well, is the reason the newer batteries won't work because you can't write to the EEPROM with a psp program or some other (hardwareish) reason?
I have opened my battery and i need to get some smaller tools, but removing the ground pin seems to be easy enough.
have got a (new) psp slim&lite (version 3.80) just yesterday, i want to do some programming on it, but i'm not very sure what the correct way to install everything is...seem to need a psp that already can run user programs? (or is this only needed to flash battery?
On some pages you read that you need to downgrade to 1.50 on others i read my psp slim can't even handle 1.50??
The best way seems to be to use "Despertar del Cementerio" or do i already need a hackedered psp to run it?
It is a bit scary, i want to be able to program my psp, but it was a bit expensive so i don't want to break it!
I will go out and get a usb cable and bigger memory stick in a while, usb cable seems to be mandatory i hope somebody can shine some light on what to do  Huh

(edit): i didn't read the instructions right, i need to run the program on a cfw (custom firmware?) to get a file called msipl.bin which
i need to put on a memory card at . Can i put it on the memory card using default psp + usb cable or do i need to get a memory card writer. I really don't have access to a already hacked psp so that's not an option  Lips sealed
