I have a slim psp v4.01

I plan to downgrade.

I am buying a pandora's battery from deal extreme. It also comes with 2gb memory stick pro duo.

Now i already have another spare memory stick pro duo that needs to be created to use with Pandora battery.

problem: i do not have a homebrew psp
why do tutorials keep saying you need it..why can't there be a computer method

i have a card reader that works fine with memory stick pro duo.is it possible to create a pandora memory stick without a psp or a psp with official sony firmware?

You need a psp with custom firmware on it to create a magic memory stick, thats the only legal way of doing it.

You need a PSP with CFW to create the files used to install CFW on your PSP.

I think Pandora GUI is a legal version, but I'm not sure if it wil work on slims.

Click on my profile and click "A place I like to call homebrew heaven...".

You might find a PC install there.

If all fails, now I'm not saying much, but if you're desperate, keep googleing. Your bound to stumble onto something.

Enough said.

Good luck!
