Hi all,

Okay i've been lurking so many boards for about a week now. I've read so many tutorials, but they seem to be outdated and not applicable to my situation..and also I want to change my phat PSP 1002 with 3.80OFW to 5.02genA CFW...

So i've decided to ask a n00b question =)

Anyway, so i have this PSP 1002 series with 3.80OFW. I have two batteries. One official one which i'm getting a stranger to convert to pandora for me (he has 5.00m33-6 CFW , but i want 5.02genA. Is it better? But anyway i dont know if he has to create a MMS as well?). And the other unofficial battery is going to be used as standard/normal battery.

So, when i get this guy to create the pandora battery for me, i'm on my own when modding it.

I just want to simply ask, can I create a MMS with 5.02genA without having a modded PSP during the meantime? (Why can't i find a tutorial that can answer this question?)..

Or, do I have to create the MMS when the guy converts my battery? I don't want his CFW though... if i need to have it, is it easy to upgrade to 5.02genA?

Also, whats better - 5.02genA or 5.00m33-6?
Can someone point me in the right direction? Thanks alot guys, bless you all.

In this case 'better' is a question of taste ^^

And i have never tested the 'Gen' CFW because i like my 5.00m33-6 so much '^^
You should try to find out the differences between those 2 firmware and
decide by that if you have any advantages over the other one.
Not by the version number.

Here is what i belive:
You will need to install CFW via a Pandora battery set first.
I only know of Pandora sets that install M33 firmware so you first step would be
3.80 OFW -> 5.00M33-6 (via despertar del cementerio v8 or a similar release)
Please make two NAND dumps one before you install 5.00m33-6 and one after.
Remember to back them up and rename them so you can identify them.
Then you can upgrade using the 'Gen' installer.

There are Magic memorystick creators out there that dont depend on a CFW PSP but we dont support them here.
If you find one please go directly to the source of that release
(a trustworthy release has a forum /thread in which you can download the latest release and ask questions should they occure.
DONT use one you stumble upon usind file sharing programs or download archives... your PSP was too expensive for that kind of gamble.)

I hope that helped you.

Thanks for the help Loonix, i'll take your advice. Think i'll stick with 5.00-m33-6 anyway..
