that says something about those forums

Ok.. let me try to explain.
HEN stands for
Homebrwew
ENabler
ChickHEN uses a bug in the TIFF file format. That bug allows to execute a small ammount of program code.
That program code again overwrites some things in the RAM of your PSP allowing us to ignore all security checks the PSP has build in.
Suddenly you can run programs that are not signed by sony and you are in the Paradise called Homebrew.
The beauty is that it does not modify the flash memory of your PSP so you wont loose your warrenty.
Just switch it off and the next time you start everything is back to normal.
The boring thing is that you need to do this every time you want to use homebrew for the first time.
On a side note this also allows you to execute homebrew programs that can write to the flash memory of your PSP.
That means you can flash for example Customfirmware to the PSP
BUT there are PSP models on which this exployt works but Custom firmware does
NOT. flashing Customfirmware to those PSP's
will break your PSP.
(PSP's with TA88v3 board and PSP-3000 models can use this exployt but do not support CFW yet)
So there is a snake in Paradise... but snake poison can be used to make medcine

So... simply said:
You place an image file in your \PSP\PICTURE\ directory and another small file in the root (x:\) of your Memorystick.
then you view the image on the PSP. The PSP crashes, reboots on its own, and like magic you can play for example Gameboy games on your PSP ^^
The image you need to use is specific to your PSP model (classic with little RAM or slim with more RAM).
What else do you need to know?
