Hi Guys this is my first post so be gentle I have recently bought a psp with original 3.52 firmware on I want to downgrade so I looked on youtube too see how it is done .After feeling very be dazzled with all the info and not wanting to brick my psp I decided to buy the DATEL TOOL BATTERY no problem. But once inserting the battery after charging all I got was a green light on and a black screen so after reading somemore realised I needed to make a magic memory card using the PANDORAS BOX gui. BUT when I go to run the pandora battery installer on the psp it says the "The game could not be started (8002014c)" what am I doing wrong this is driving me insane please please can anyone help

You need another PSP already downgraded to 1.50 or currently running a custom firmware (i.e. 4.01 M33) in order to be able to run the pandora installer and create the magic memory stick or pandorise a normal battery (obviously you do not need the second, since you paid for a datel tool battery). You still need the stick though.

Look in the helping thread to find someone local (or not) who can help you create the memory stick.

Uh... all you really had to do was download the Pandoras Box GUI and have it make a Magic Memory Stick for you. Then use the Datel TOOL battery with it, and wa-la, you can downgrade your PSP from there.

I did it this same way except I didn't use a TOOL battery. I ended up modifying my official sony one by taking it apart and turning it into a Pandora's Battery that way. And it all worked just fine.

Using Pandoras Box GUI is the illegal way to make a magic memory stick and the only legal way is with a CFW psp

If that's so, then why isn't it blocked?

It uses parts from PBP files...  Undecided

Okay, so the Pandoras Box GUI download does not contain any Sony copyrighted files in it.
