Maybe the most important pluss is that you can play the most recent UMD's ^^
Also teh Browser added with 2.00 is a thing you probably dont want to miss.
Then they added support for ps1 titles, yes, ater conversion you can pllay close to every ps1 game on your PSP!
even later eith 3.70 they added official suport for custom themes (a thing done since ... i belive 3.03 CFW manualy ^^)

well... what else has changed over the generations...
They have improved the music, photo and video playback, added support for different network protocols, implemented support for the USB Camera and GPS device

And all the time they 'strengthend security' ^^ to no avail.

Make sure you follow the guide to the letter, and in particular you download all the necessary packages and install (uncompress) them in the right places of your Memory Stick.

The memory stick shouldn´t be the problem.

I heard that before (MAGICGATE not appearing at all in the original Memory Stick bundled with the console... so I guess that means is original SONY but for some reason it does not show the MAGICGATE information)

I still think you did not copied the files in the right place. O:-) Please Read the guide slowly and carefully and try again.

---EDIT---
Download this Batch file.

Copy it to the root of the memory stick where you believe you installed all the downgrader files properly.
Run the batch file and it will create a text file logging the contents of the Memory Stick.
Send me the text file as an attachment via email (Check my profile for the email)
I´ll look through the log, trying to find out the cause of the downgrading failure and I´ll come back to you Smiley... and the best of all.... FREE %) Wink

There is one file missing in the ms0:\PSP\PHOTO\HEN_280\ folder named loader.tif (59.890 bytes).

Some Antivirus think that file is a virus (actually it´s the file containing the TIFF exploit, and that´s the reason of the false positive) so my guess is that your Antivirus is preventing you from uncompresing it from the hen280.zip package.

It is NOT a virus, so just unload your Antivirus from memory, so you can copy the file into the Memory Stick and then once you disconnected the stick from the computer, you can activate de Antivirus again.

That should sort it out Wink

That was it,My anti-virus is set to auto-detect so it doesnt warn me of any viruses it just removes them automatically, so I disabled it and got the file to transfer...After 3 tries it worked...I am now at 1.5 and am off to upgrade to 3.52m33-4 CFW...

FYI..I did read the previouse posts about a guy having the same problems I was but since  my anti-virus never gave me the warning I thought I was in the clear..

But hey thanks alot wakaru..muchisimas gracias!

Hello, I seem to be stuck on this process, which still seems to elude me as to why,

My PSP is running on 2.80HEN, I've ran the  TA082 iDStorage change, which was successful, and proceeded to run the XYZ Update, which opens fine, but seems to not find the update.pbp file. after saying this the psp reboots to the XMB. I have the 1.5 eboot and renamed it to update.pbp as directed in the the directions and copied it to psp/game/update, but for some reason like I said, the generic updater cant find it, I dont understand whats going on, could anyone assist me?

Perhaps you are not viewing the extensions of the files by default in your Windows O.S.
This would make you rename the file EBOOT(.PBP) (The 1.50 Update file) to UPDATE.PBP(.PBP) [(HIDDEN)]

If you're using Windows OS, just go to "My Computer" and then:
Tools -> Folder Options -> View -> Un-tick "Hide Extensions for Known File types"
Go to the Memory Stick again, to ms0:/PSP/UPDATE/ and check that the update file is named properly UPDATE.PBP instead of UPDATE.PBP.PBP
